We really do have to commend our city for its environmental efforts. From banning plastic bags to creating miniature parklets, S.F. is certainly ahead of the curve when it comes to pioneering eco practices to brighten up its streets. According to the S.F. Bay Guardian, the city is now standing up to the multi-billion dollar bottled-water business by initiating a ban on plastic bottles under 21 ounces inside city limits.
Are you gleaming with pride yet? A bit, ahem, bottle shocked? Well, you should be. This historical move makes S.F. the first U.S. city to undertake such a ban — a surefire way to spark momentum in the rest of the country. The rule will be rolled out in October, which gives us plenty of time to stock up on re-usable sippers. Bkr, you might wanna ramp up production. [S.F. Bay Guardian">S.F. Bay Guardian]
