Olivia Wilde & HBO Set To Make Sweet Music Together

It's becoming increasingly difficult to make the distinction between film and television, especially where HBO is concerned. For instance, True Detective stars two bona fide movie stars and is more cinematic than anything we've recently seen in an actual motion picture. So, it makes perfect sense that more and more film actors are migrating to television.
The latest is Olivia Wilde, who will star in an upcoming pilot for HBO about the music business in 1970s New York, when the city was at the cusp of the punk and disco explosions. That hook alone, would be enough to entice any movie star, but it helps that Martin Scorsese is on board to direct. The as-yet-untitled pilot will reunite Scorsese with his Boardwalk Empire and Wolf of Wall Street partner-in-crime Terence Winter, who will write the pilot's screenplay.
Wilde will star as Devon, the wife of record executive Richie Finestra, who will be played by Boardwalk vet Bobby Cannavale. And, to make sure they're able to authentically capture the debauchery of that sex-and-drug fueled era, they've enlisted an executive producer who might know a thing or two about it: Rolling Stones front man Mick Jagger. HBO is straight killing it right now, people. (Digital Spy)
