Pharrell Williams is on a roll, friends. With "Get Lucky," "Blurred Lines," the Grammys, the Oscars, dancing with Meryl Streep, the just-released album G I R L, and, of course, that hat, the last few months have been treating him pretty darn well.
For his next trick, the rapper, producer, singer, designer, and ageless vampire is going all mass-market on us. Uniqlo just announced that it'll be collaborating with Williams on a new line of T-shirts and caps to be sold in stores and online starting mid-April. Of course, this is nowhere near Pharrell's first brush with fashion, but it is his first go with a retailer so large, it might just buy J.Crew.
Uniqlo tells us (as does Vogue) that this is officially a collab with Williams' brand, i am OTHER. This is, as you might remember, the same company will.i.am unsuccessfully tried to sue over copyright infringement. In any case, limited-edition versions of Williams' "Think Other" shirts will be available online Friday, March 21 and the whole collection will be in stores April 14. The timing is perfect for T-shirt weather! Until then, we're gonna go ahead and call 2014 the year of Pharrell. (Vogue)
