Late last month, Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard made waves when they asked fans to boycott magazines that publish unauthorized photos of celebrity kids.
The brand new parents have taken aim at the paparazzi after photos of their baby girl were published in the Daily Mail without their permission. At the time, Shepard admitted that the battle to prevent such photos was an uphill one. Well, it looks like they have their first soldier.
Entertainment Tonight announced that they'll be joining Bell and Shepard's crusade and have condemned the use of unauthorized celebrity baby photos. "We are proud to support Kristen Bell and other celebrities in their efforts to protect their children from intrusive paparazzi," read a statement from the show's executive producers. "It is our sincere hope that having ET take a leadership position on this issue sends a clear message to the photographers taking these unwanted shots, that this behavior will not be tolerated or supported."
The couple's hope is that with backing by such a major player in the celebrity industrial complex, others will follow suit. Bell and Shepard have specifically targeted People, a magazine Bell called "better than their trashy weekly counterparts," in a recent tweet. She added, "They often print REAL stories abt REAL ppl who actually deserve to be news. But they need a nudge in the right direction." (Jezebel)
