A New Beauty Line Brings South American Pampering To Your Body

Buenos Aires is one of the world's great cities, with vibrant people and incredible Latin culture. No wonder it's high on our travel wish list. But, since a plane ride to the Southern Hemisphere isn't in our future, we're living the dream through Ayres Beauty, a just-launched collection of aromatic bath and body products (and soy candles, too) inspired by the capital. (Why Ayres and not Aires? Traditionally, the Spanish spelling of the city was Buenos Ayres. Now you know.)
"Buenos Aires is a city that blends a unique combination of European sophistication and Latin passion with the Pampas' breathtaking nature," says founder Alejandro Rasic, who was born and raised in Argentina. An 18-year beauty industry veteran who's worked with everyone from Estée Lauder to Kenzo to Givenchy Parfums, Rasic is launching his made-in-the-States, inspired-by-Argentina collection with three bath and body lines: Midnight Tango, Pampas Sunrise, and Patagonia. All of the paraben-free products incorporate essential oils for an aromatherapy experience.
Rasic's ties to South America run much deeper than just the names of his products — even the scents are reminiscent of his childhood. Having witnessed the majestic blue lagoons and mountains of Patagonia, Rasic created "a fresh and crisp scent — you can feel the cool air from the glaciers." Early morning walks on the farm led to the lemongrass and patchouli notes of Pampas Sunrise. ("You can smell the morning dew melting on the green leaves," he notes.) The evocative scents, the gorgeous imagery, Rasic's serious beauty cred... ¿Cómo se dice "next big thing"?
Ayres Beauty, $10–$34, available at Ayres Beauty.
