Latin Culture Takes The Stage At The Wildest Hair Show We’ve Ever Seen

Here's the thing about hair shows: Unless you're in the salon business, you probably don't hear about them. But, in the case of superstar stylist Oribe's annual Backstage event, that's a shame — because this showcase aims to be spectacular, in all senses of the word. The theme of this year's Backstage, La Fama, set out to celebrate Latin culture. With inspiration ranging from Catholicism to chupacabras, mariachi musicians to Jennifer Lopez, Oribe set out to shatter expectations of what the theme might mean. "People think they're coming down here to stick a flower in María Conchita's hair," he said before the Miami Beach show. "That's not what this is about."
Having seen the show, we're still bowled over by this amazingly over-the-top showcase. Read on for an inside look at this vivid, vibrant (and hair-filled) take on Latin culture — after seeing what went down, you may be tempted to enroll in beauty school in time for next year's event...
