The Late Isabella Blow Finds A New Home At Somerset House

Somerset House, or as we are now going to start calling it, Fashion House, is hosting an exhibition devoted to the extensively fabulous wardrobe of the late fashion editor Isabella Blow. The exhibition will feature 100 items from her personal collection. Which is bound to be a brilliantly curated collection, considering the fact that she was famous for discovering and nurturing some of the most important design talent of our time — Alexander McQueen, Philip Treacy, and Hussein Chalayan, among others, all benefited from her expert eye.
Upon her tragic death, her dear friend and fellow style pioneer, Daphne Guinness, bought Blow's entire wardrobe, as she explained, “When I visited her beloved clothes in a storage room in South Kensington, it seemed quite clear the collection would be of immense value to a great many people. I do believe that in choosing to exhibit them we’ve done the right thing — and that it is what she would have wanted. I am doing this in memory of a dear friend, in the hope that her legacy may continue to aid and inspire generations of designers to come.”

Frankly we can’t wait to see Blow’s iconic Philip Treacy headdresses. London Fashion Week isn't the same without a glimpse of them in the crowd. Oh Issie, how we miss you.
