Shattering The Glass Ceiling: Zaha Hadid Named Businesswoman Of The Year

Finding success in a primarily male-dominated industry is no small feat. We all know this. So, when a woman achieves beyond her peers and inspires a new understanding of what the glass ceiling even looks like (all while championing some seriously impressive style), the world takes notice. And that's precisely why Veuve Clicquot has named world-renowned architect Zaha Hadid Businesswoman of the Year.
Credited with such monumental achievements as London 2012's Olympic swimming pool, the Evelyn Grace Academy in Brixton, and Guangzhou Opera House in China, Hadid was chosen for her "great zeal as a businesswoman" as well as her ability to "adapt to change" in a primarily male environment. In other words, Zaha kicked a lot of butt.
Christina Jesaitis, senior brand manager of Clicquot, said Zaha showed the same determination as Madame Clicquot herself, a comparison certainly worthy of a toast. Check out her acceptance speech and get to know the other honorees in the video below. And then go ahead and take on the world. (Telegraph)
