Everybody’s favourite supermodel (and ours) Kate Moss knows how to play the celebrity game. She’s reported to live by the immortal phrase, “never complain, and never explain.” A motto she has kept to, strictly, as we can count on one hand the number of times we’ve heard her speak. Until now, that is.
To raise money for the charity Comic Relief, Moss joined Radio 1 DJ Nick Grimshaw on his morning breakfast show today and the rule was that if £200,000 could be raised during the show, the legend would speak. Not just a “hello, how you doing?” sort of thing but she would in fact read an extract from Fifty Shades Of Grey
Luckily, the people of Great Britain put their hands in their pockets and the money was raised. What made us reel when we first saw the video of the moment was how good she was at breathing sex appeal into a very hammy piece of literature. How fantastic she looked in the jumpsuit she was wearing. And how sweetly she blushed when she finished the monologue. A priceless insight into one of London’s most mysterious women (in the public eye at least) and a great boost for a deserving charity. What a way to start the day.
