Oh Nicki, you're so tricky! After tons of rumors and speculation (involving everyone from Justin Bieber to Katy Perry being named as the new Idol celeb judge post- the departures of Jennifer Lopez and Steven Tyler), the announcement was made today that Nicki Minaj is joining the panel. The new cast of includes Keith Urban, Mariah Carey, old favorite Randy Jackson, and now the Barbie herself, Nicki Minaj.
The new gig is already kicking off, with auditions taking place (with Nicki joining in) tomorrow in New York (or so she says on Twitter). Rumors report that Minaj is pulling down $8 million for her new gig, which is considerably less than Mariah's apparent $17 million, but hey — Mariah Carey's been a diva for over two decades. She deserves a little respect.
