Touching NY Love Story: A Cancelled Wedding And How To Move On

huffpoembed
By now you know we're suckers for a good (or bad, or aww-inducing) love story, and while the happiest ones often end in marriage, sometimes it takes a truncated walk to the alter to get there. Such was the case for journalist and writer Lisa Wolfe, whose cancelled wedding gave her the power to move on (and in turn, gave us the power to realise that its okay for relationships to end). In her aptly named Huff Po article, "My Cancelled Wedding," Wolfe bravely discusses the painful (not to mention taboo) process of calling off her nuptials. Yes, there were the rescinded "Save The Dates," the bundles of unused flowers, and (oh the dagger!) the unworn dress. In the end though, the momentary embarrassment of telling friends and family it's off is nothing compared to the learning experience, the growing experience, and the residual dating experience that comes out of bucking up and breaking up (even in NYC).
As the spring wedding season comes in full bloom, we were actually happy to hear of the real-life bumps in the road that lead to Wolfe's eventual happy marriage (here she is, pictured with her current husband). Yes, there is life after the loss (and the inconvenience solace of having a four-tiered wedding cake in your fridge for weeks). Click on to read the full story. (Huffington Post)
