8 Women Share The Money Lessons They Wished They’d Learnt Earlier

According to a University of Cambridge study, our beliefs around money are cemented by the age of seven. This means that long before you’ve started high school or gotten your first part-time job, you’ve already developed some subconscious financial habits.
Some of these approaches to money don’t serve us — such as developing a shopping addiction. But others, such as investing early and for the long term (through an investing app, such as the Sharesies platform) — can help you set yourself up for the future.
While our earliest lessons about money are usually modelled by our caregivers, that doesn’t mean that our perspectives can’t change over time. We spoke to 8 women to hear the money lessons they wish they’d learnt earlier.
