Presidential candidates are well aware of how crucial SoCal can be during election season. Not only is a significant Hollywood backing key to winning over voters, we're also a politically charged city with a very diverse population. With that in mind, we're not surprised that one crop of students is channeling the race in their latest assignment: The Body Politic, a runway show inspired by November 6th and other civic moments throughout history. From menswear to the good ol' red, white, and blue, these pupils are bringing a bit of D.C. to L.A.
Held at the Art Institute of California's scenic rooftop of the North Hollywood campus, the presentation will highlight 12 collections by the school's brightest designers. For non-students, a ticket will cost you a mere $40 (even less if you're currently enrolled!), which is a small price to pay to witness some seriously inspired work. In addition to Uncle Sam-style collections, students in other programs such as fashion marketing, graphic design, and photography will help produce the show.

And, our own L.A. Editor, Brenna Egan, will be on-hand to judge the designs along with Project Runway contestant Kit Scarbo, and Luv Aj jewelry designer, Amanda Thomas. Tickets are selling like hotcakes, so get yours ASAP. Who knows, you may catch a glimpse of a future First Lady's (or first-female president's) wardrobe!
