Burberry Prorsum’s City-Meets-Country Makeup

Fashion Week is in full swing across the pond – and what would London style be without Burberry? The inspiration behind Christopher Bailey’s show this year, “Town and Field,” came from the idea of forcing two clashing lifestyles together. And we have to say, not only did the concept work beautifully with the mix of textures and fabrics seen in the collection, it came into play on the models’ faces, too.
Burberry Prorsum’s runway look is known for being clean and simple – and the faces mostly reflected that, sticking to the classic Burberry freshness with a sweep of Misty and Earthy blushes and a soft pink lip. It’s so “I just ran through the moors looking for Heathcliff,” no? But we were pumped to see that the makeup artists brought a bit of the big city idea to the runway, and it’s so easy to DIY: the eyes were sexy and smoky, but in an unexpected shade of taupe (reminiscent of a trenchcoat, perhaps?)
But the models weren’t the only ones rocking this fab fierceness – front row guests got the VIP hookup, including Kate Bosworth, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, and Clemence Poesy. And, for the first time ever, the beauty look was available for purchase from Burberry's website immediately post-show. Who doesn’t love instant beauty gratification?
