These Companies Are Offering Discounts For Equal Pay Day

Today is Equal Pay Day. Women in the U.S. have to work this far into 2018 in order to have earned what men made in 2017. That's 100 extra days of the daily grind.
All over the country, companies and local establishments are turning their attention to this disparity by offering discounts and freebies to raise awareness about this important issue.
Ahead, a roundup of nationwide deals in honor of Equal Pay Day.

Known Supply

The clothing brand has teamed up with Career Contessa and Step Up to launch the Equal Pay Me T-shirt in honor of Equal Pay Day. Each shirt is $30, and all of the proceeds will go to Step Up, an LA-based non-profit working to support girls in under-resourced communities. Each shirt is hand-signed by the woman who made it.

From now through April 14, LUNA is offering a 20% discount on all LUNA Bars purchased through the LUNA Bar Online Store using the code: EQUALPAY.

LUNA is also matching the discount amount with a donation to the American Association of University Women (AAUW) of up to $100,000 to help fund salary negotiation resources for women.

Today from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., NarcBar at The Standard in the East Village is hosting an (Un)Happy Hour with 20% off all cocktails and a menu featuring drinks containing female-created spirits.

From 6 to 8 p.m. today, Mingo is hosting an Unhappy Hour and serving cocktails to women for 65 cents and to men for $1 in order to highlight wage inequality.

This Akron, OH, bakery is giving out free cookies to raise awareness for Equal Pay Day, no purchase necessary.

For the next 24 hours, Squarespace is offering a 20% discount on any first purchase to represent the 20 cent wage gap, using the code EQUALPAY.

Squarespace is also teaming up with change makers — including Gloria Steinem, Deun Ivory, and Bridget Everett — to raise awareness about wage inequality on their Instagram.
