Lily-Rose Depp Is Mom & Dad’s Mini-Me In New Movie

If Lily-Rose Depp is going to follow in her parents' footsteps to stardom, it looks like she's getting off to a fun start. The young actress is grinning and rocking out in photos People acquired of her first starring role, in Kevin Smith's Yoga Hosers.
The movie is a spin-off of Smith's horror-comedy Tusk, which was released last year and featured a brief appearance by young Depp along with Smith's daughter, Harley Quinn Smith. In the new flick, the two reprise their roles as store clerks in Manitoba, Canada. This time, they're planning to attend a senior party when evil monsters emerge from underground, so they join forces with man-hunter Guy LaPointe, played by Johnny Depp. Somehow their yoga enthusiasm comes into play, too — it's best not to ask too many questions, this is a Kevin Smith film, after all.
According to People, Lily-Rose's mother, Vanessa Paradis, also appears in the movie, making it a real family affair. (Amber Heard isn't in the movie, but she reportedly stopped by the set to give Lily-Rose a dog at some point!)
Smith seems totally taken with the Depps' father-daughter relationship. "There's a scene in an interrogation room between the two of them, and they're actually trying to out-act each other and it's really cute," the director told People. "Then Lily busts out some French — because she speaks French really fluently — and just shows him up."
Is the younger Depp on her way to a career filled with quirky-but-iconic roles like her dad? Or will she choose the path of supreme French elegance like Mom? Either way, we're sure it will be fun to watch her navigate between the two.
According to Slashfilm, Smith hopes to premiere Yoga Hosers at the Toronto Film Festival. (People)
