Watch out, Serena. Caroline Wozniacki has arrived.
After Sunday's major win over over fifth seed Maria Sharapova, the 24-year-old Dane (seeded 11) has put herself on our players-to-watch list for the upcoming week. Her 6-4 2-6 6-2 win against one of the sport's biggest names was much in part to her ability to reach the far corners of the court in a short amount of time.
Wozniacki credits training for the New York Marathon as helping her game, especially with today's hot and humid temperatures. (As if making it to the U.S. Open player wasn't enough.)
This win gets Wozniacki to her first Grand Slam quarterfinal in her past 11 appearances. If she makes it as far as predicted, Wozniacki could be of the few players with a legitimate chance to upset Serena Williams. And, who doesn't love an underdog with a cute Instagram account? We're watching you, Woz. (For The Win)
