Let's give it up for the ladies of Hollywood who gave us beautiful hair on last night's Golden Globes red carpet. But, now it's time to take a break from the gals and give the gents a little red-carpet love, especially since Fashionista aptly spotted a trend that we think deserves more recognition. It seems some Tinseltown gents are growing long, strong manes and have decided to give the gals a run for their money in the updo department. People, we give you The Rise Of The Man Bun.
Oh, yes: Some of our favorite red-carpet looks last night came courtesy of Jared Leto (be still our beating hearts) and Joaquin Phoenix, who tossed their tresses into well-executed twists, with composer Alex Ebert heading into full-on top knot territory. Gals, be ready to share that dry shampoo and jar of hair ties. Man buns are real, they're happening, and they're coming to a bathroom counter near you.
Frankly, we're into this grooming trend for dudes of the Hollywood and everyday variety. Just like the ladies, there are some who will look better with buns than others. But, if more guys want to strut their stuff in a variety of updos, we're down to give them the same love we share for the ladies who execute similar styles with such aplomb. Let's just avoid the scrunchies, shall we? Ain't nobody got time for that. (Fashionista)
