She ‘Fessed! Kristen Stewart Cheating: All Part Of A Twilight Press Stunt?

UPDATE: Kristen Stewart just released the following statement, hours after the news broke: "I'm deeply sorry for the hurt and embarrassment I've caused to those close to me and everyone this has affected. This momentary indiscretion has jeopardized the most important thing in my life, the person I love and respect the most, Rob. I love him, I love him, I'm so sorry." Director Rupert Sanders also issued an apology: "I am utterly distraught about the pain I have caused my family. My beautiful wife and heavenly children are all I have in this world. I love them with all my heart. I am praying that we can get through this together." Does this make the whole thing seem more or less like a publicity stunt? (People)

Okay...not to get all tin-foil hat on you, but bear with us: Is it possible that K. Stew and R. Pattz and that whole relationship thing was a press stunt? No really, hear us out: The two have been the most evasive couple ever, rarely going on record about the fact that they are actually dating, and the rumors started pretty much as soon as they started promoting the first Twilight movie. And now that the franchise is coming to a close, we suddenly get hit with the whammy that Kristen Stewart has been cheating?
Not to say we believe in conspiracy theories, but the real-life existence of a happy Bella and Edward is just what a besotted Twilight fan might need (literally and figuratively) to buy into the movies. Nothing could make this series more juicy than — and, could it have been scripted better? — Kristen Stewart ending her run by hooking up with director Rupert Sanders (who directed her in Snow White And The Huntsman).
Of course, this is all hearsay and conjecture, coming from a "source close to the actress", but the news will definitely trickle out and the tabloids can begin their bit-chomping, if they haven't already. Certainly, we won't start looking into secret societies or tales of illuminati, or even do any finger-pointing in the direction of Summit, but...this does make the imminent release of the new movie interesting, doesn't it?
