The Plot: Even though Allen has not yet commented on the plot of his latest film, the S.F. Film Commission says it will revolve around a wealthy-turned-broke woman who leaves New York and is living with her sister in S.F. The protagonist is forced to downsize after losing her funds and meets her Bay Area lover while finding herself and accepting S.F. as her new home. We’re wondering if S.F. is the thriftiest place to move to when looking to save dough? Hmm… (ABC Local)
The Timing: The unnamed flick started filming August 6 (casting calls were released and reported on July 31). And it is expected to continue throughout the end of August and then head to NYC come fall. The flick is slated to hit theaters at the end of 2013. (CBS Local) (On Location)
The Cast: The oddball cast is composed of Cate Blanchett, Alec Baldwin, Peter Sarsgaard, Louis C.K., Andrew Dice Clay, Michael Emerson, Bobby Cannavale, Sally Hawkins, Max Casella, and Alden Ehrenreich. (Hollywood Reporter)
The Locations: So far, both HuffPo SF and ABC Local have reported sightings at Belvedere, Tiburon (Cate Blanchett and Louis C.K. were shooting a party scene), a winery in Larkspur, Pacific Heights, the Mission (14th Street and South Van Ness Avenue), apartment interior scenes in the Mission (20th and Lexington streets), in the Marina at Motel Capri, Ocean Beach, Shreve & Co. in Union Square (Peter Sarsgaard and Cate Blanchett sighting), and at The Ramp in Potrero Hill.

The Future Locations: According to SFGate, future filming locations include the Inner Sunset, Upper Haight, and the F-line street car along Market.
Woody’s S.F. Past: The unnamed project isn’t the first Woody Allen movie shot here in S.F. He made his 1969 directorial debut with Take The Money And Run and also shot Play It Again Sam here — the latter starring Diane Keaton. A fan of S.F., he once said, “There are very few places in America that have charm. San Francisco, it's pretty. It's got a European charm to it." (SF Weekly)
Woody’s S.F. Faves: Naturally, Allen’s been gallivanting all around town! He’s been spotted dining at Rose Pistola in North Beach (he had a plate of heirloom tomatoes and upside-down cake), Kokkari in FiDi (he dined here with Soon-Yi), Esperpento and Wise Sons Deli in the Mission, and at Zuni Café. Also, locals have reported him having drinks at Quince, dining at Cotogna (he fell asleep at the table), as well as at Servino in Tiburon with Soon-Yi, Serpentine in the Dogpatch (spectators say he had salmon), and most recently at Nettie's Crab Shack in Cow Hollow. (Tablehopper)
Extra, Extra: Allen's hired a crop of S.F. locals to appear as extras — at $8/hour. So, keep your eyes out for friends in the flick! (ABC Local)
