Runway Report: Loden Dager

lodendager_scene
Set yesterday at Bungalow 8, Loden Dager's spring presentation had the ambition of a rising starlet. Trotting out perhaps their largest collection to date—including some brand new women's looks—there were earnest efforts, and unforeseen snags. Men's staples were tinged with retro touches, like pleating on cuffed shorts and beachy plaids on button-downs. The designs were handsome, if not particularly groundbreaking, and the humidity outside rippled through them, puckering seams left and right. The colors, though, were uniformly strong—a pale yellow blazer over golden yellow pants, white shorts with a sea blue cardigan and coral collar. No surprise that, according to the press notes, "this story begins when Hollywood discovered color."
