Lewis’ Fall Collection Is Perf For A Cocktail

Alison Lewis, the designer behind her eponymous line Lewis, does pleats (and prints) so perfectly that Issey Miyake's definitely watching his back. A couple years ago Alison got on our radar with a partnership with another Refinery fave, Rachel Antonoff, on the short-lived line Mooka Kinney. Despite the break-up, we didn't stop loving Lewis, and her fall '10 lookbook is a perfect example of why our crush shows no signs of petering out. This season's collection was inspired by the '70s Czech horror film Valerie and Her Week of Wonders, and is chock-full of sumptuous silk frocks, effortless jackets, and coveted A-line smocks suitable for any soir&eacutee. We're majorly digging the recurring jagged purple-and-white print that adds a downtown-girl vibe to both blouses and sheaths. Standouts include the Simone Pant, a high-waisted, totally flattering trouser in black silk twill, and the Valerie Gown, a floor-length dress cut in navy and black hammered washed silk that would do any horror heroine proud.
