Check Out Some Ridiculous Street Art This Weekend — Inside A Sick Gallery

If this new gallery has its way, L.A.’s street-art culture will finally have a central hub. The LALA Gallery — a play on “Lala Land,” in case you're having a slow day — opens in the Arts District with a classy bash this Saturday night, and is the end result of one man's serious passion for street art. Gallery owner Dan Lahoda’s been organizing amazing murals and striking visual pieces around L.A. for the past two and a half years, but now he’s taking his project inside four walls.
The show boasts a straightforward name, LA Freewalls Inside, and features artists hailing from NYC all the way to New Zealand. And of course, there’s some L.A. O.G. work up on the walls too: SABER and Shepard Fairey are both repped, naturally. Taking in guerilla-style art in a gallery? If there’s any place in the world where that could work, it’s here, in our eff-the-establishment town!
When: Saturday, April 21, from 7 to 10 p.m.
Where: LALA Arts, 1335 Willow Street (at South Santa Fe Avenue); next to Villain’s Tavern; RSVP here
