The Sneakiest Way To Mix Up Your Eye Makeup

Here in the R29 beauty department, we're all for finding the brightest, boldest, and most badass makeup looks out there. But, we have to admit that when it comes to getting our makeup onto our faces most weekday mornings, we're not, you know, looking to draw cats onto our eyes or anything. Instead, we're usually searching for makeup that is wearable and flattering, with just enough of a twist to make the look different and eye-catching.
Well, this hack that the talented ladies of The Beauty Department came up with falls perfectly into the category of subtle-yet-impactful makeup tricks. Instead of completing a smoky eye with the typical black or nude liner on the inner rims, the TBD girls suggest lining them with a metallic shadow stick.

For their DIY, the ladies used a bronze-y gold (Jouer Crème Eyeshadow Crayon in Baroque to accent an espresso-hued makeup look, but we could see this eye being amazing in black with a silver accent or navy with a shimmery light blue rim. Any way you wear it, your eyes will be illuminated with just a hint of brightness — a perfect fit for an early meeting, if you ask us. But, hey, if you're a big fan of The Hyper-Literal Cat Eye, you do you. (The Beauty Department)
