If The World Lived Like New Yorkers, We’d All Fit In Texas

Last week, we saw a map of America according to New Yorkers, and now Gothamist is bringing us another graphic concerning our fair city. Density blog Per Square Mile has created a rendering of how much space the world's staggering 6.9 billon people would need if it were as dense as certain cities. If everyone lived like Big Apple citizens, Earth could fit into the state of Texas. Cramped Paris, on the other hand, would only need an area the size of Arkansas, Louisiana, and Mississipi, while space-drunk Houston requires almost all of the Midwest, Great Plains, Rocky Mountains, and Southwest. Feeling squished yet?
