We've gathered the outfits that'll make you the dish du jour at LA's hippest new spot for bright young things, Public.
Feel the joy of the lush life as you sit beneath hand-painted ceilings and atop over-stuffed upholstered chairs at Public, the newest spot nestled inside the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel. Chef Tim Goodell, the man behind 25 Degrees, presents a super-rich menu—Neapolitan meatballs with currants and pine nuts, potato and three cheese fritters served in a dippable basil aioli—meant for the snacker who likes to nibble, or those with a serious lust for the reddest meats. Though the light is romantic, the tropical flora and moss-covered walls deserve a little sun, so choose something bright to stand out against all of the rich brass and wood tones. A place Don Draper would take his ladies—if they were LA-based—the retro-inspired floral tones and old school clutches look great alongside the diamond-tufted banquette. One promise though: Don't spoil your appetite on the legendary Parker House Rolls—they're to die for.

Fig and Olive makes us yearn for the European seaside, so here's the right look to keep things as easy as a day on the playa.
Fig and Olive already has a tasty New York location, but we must admit—the Melrose Place addition makes us feel as if we are on a Biscayne vacation. Maybe it's the fresh-baked olive bread or the off-the-vine produce, all served simply in a bright, spacious dining area. The secluded outdoor patio will have you doing your best Hemingway, pretending you are stopping for a quick lunch before exploring the Spanish countryside. Well-prepared and delightfully uncomplicated fare is served, like the truffled artichoke and mushroom crostini or mouth-watering yellowfin tuna carpaccio. Suited for a great afternoon stopover, the extensive wine list is perfect to ease you into an evening—we particularly like the grenache/syrah blends, especially when nibbled on with their incredible European cheeses.
Such a clean and fresh environment needs something light and sporty, with a touch of elegance like a golden clutch or a great bangle. Fun, Spanish-inspired heels can kick off a tailored look, and a great trench is day-to-night ready. The other gals can have lunch—you can be a lady who leisures.

Fresh ingredients, a Vietnamese kick and some of the tastiest drinks in town are served with gusto at Wilshire Boulevard's sleekest new eatery. Though it prides itself on an off-the-vine quality of food, Red Medicine makes no claim of authenticity: the trio isn't even Vietnamese. However, after slaving away 14-hour shifts in other people's kitchens (like Thomas Kellers' or Alex Stupak's), Chef Jordan Kahn and Co. wanted to pay a tribute to the delicious pho and comfort food they dined on in LA's Chinatown—the only, and best places open when their shifts ended. So they brought in cilantro, rock shrimp, rice paper, and took the ingredients they came to love and created delicious, cross-cultural treats such as farm egg with pickled rose petals and peanuts, squid in an onion soubise alongside salted black beans or the incredible "banh mi"—foie gras and paté.
Besides a feel for fresh food, killer bespoken drinks come straight from the farm as well, like the #34, Cocchi Americano served with elderflower and soda, or the milky-bourbon of #48. With all of the complex flavors, keep things simple with the "It" colors of 2011: beige and black. A minimal pair of sleek trousers beneath a more flowing, neutral top will keep the focus where it should be: you. Oh, and the food, too.
