We recently did a story about designer home goods because, seriously, who wouldn't want a Christian Lacroix French Frou Frou Limoncello Pillow? Now, another esteemed designer that entered the dwelling arena is Bottega Veneta. Known for its supple leather goods, the Italian brand is considered a leader in luxury. The same could be said for the Park Hyatt Chicago, so it's no surprise that the two collaborated on a really suite upgrade.
Considering the fashion house opened up shop on the ground level of the hotel back in 2000, you could say this was a perfect union destined to happen. As part of a multimillion dollar hotel renovation, the Gold Coast hotel now has an exclusive Bottega Veneta-designed suite on the 17th floor. Measuring 1,400 square feet, the space is divided between a bedroom, open living room, kitchenette, and two bathrooms.
As you would expect, almost all of the furniture is from the Bottega Veneta collection. We're talking everything from the chests of drawers and dining-room set to the bed, couch, and beyond. There's even a brisée (18th-century-inspired chair) from the META line, produced in collaboration with Poltrona Frau. As for the name, this luxurious respite is appropriately called the Lake Suite Bottega Veneta, thanks to its to-die-for views of Lake Michigan.
