Chris Benz’s Resort ’11 Is Uptown With An Edge

While the menswear-inspired clothing trend doesn't seem to be dying anytime soon, Chris Benz' resort '11 collection reminds us of exactly why being a girl is so much fun. Inspired by the Californian mid-century sculptor Sascha Brastoff, whose social milieu included the likes of Carmen Miranda, Benz ditches his NYC stomping grounds to re-imagine the '50s Los Angeles woman while maintaining his signature Benz twist. Ultra-elegant tweed jackets, delicately draped organza tops and quirky two pieces that pack a punch give this collection incredible depth while high-contrast Brastoff-printed slim suits give us a dose of the quirky flair that Benz always has up his sleeve. We can imagine downing some mai-tais while making a midday business deal or two in a shady cabana of the Beverly Hills Hotel, or taking off a blazer and jettin' back to Manhattan for a two-step at the Boom Boom Room. Benz' versatility proves that this collection is worthy of any modern lady, regardless of whether they lunch or not.
Available at six Saks Fifth Avenue locations starting this week, including our own New York location, the designer is celebrating the launch of the Pre-Fall CHRIS BENZ Exclusive Dresses for Saks Fifth Avenue collection by giving away this Emerald 4-ply Silk Crepe Short Sleeve Surplice Front Dress with Belt ($995) dress to one lucky Refinery29 reader—perfect for a power lunch or maybe something a little more discreet. Just comment on this story and tell us your favorite lunch. The one that has our mouth watering grabs the gown!
We'll announce the winner of this silky stunna tomorrow at noon on our Facebook page and via twitter.
