Bruce Springsteen paid tribute to Auckland's local talent at his show last night. In a crackly, acoustic rendition in true Boss style, Springsteen covered Lorde's hit "Royals." And, for these four minutes and seven seconds, teenagers and their parents could finally bond over musical interests. It was an unexpected — yet delightful — convergence of pop generations. Of course, the crowd adored it.
Bruce may be The Boss, and his cover does rock, but he's also not the first to play a new version of "Royals." From a big, sad clown to T-Pain, YouTube is littered with Royal gems of people performing the song. Check out these other covers of Lorde's chart-topper. Which one will you call Queen Bee?

This cover is called "Sad Clown With The Golden Voice." The aesthetic maybe a little unnerving, but his voice is rather golden.
T-Pain gives us what we want from T-Pain with this beautifully auto-tuned rendition. You can call him Queen T.

American a cappella group Pentatonix really puts their heart into this cover. Wearing coordinating metallic accessories, this crew belts out the ballad, their eyes locked to the camera, telling us what we will never be.
