If you're like us, you probably feel a bit worse for wear this morning, err, afternoon. Well, don't feel guilty about reaching for a little hair of the dog, because today is national Bloody Mary Day — time to crack open that vodka, dear reader!
But, because it is New Year's Day, you've got to do a little better than a watery, premade mix. So, to help you out, BIG Bar shared with us a recipe that's got Chicago written all over it. The Deep Dish (like the pizza) Mary is comprised of everything you love on your pie, but in a glass — think Italian sausage, pepperoni, and mozzarella cheese. Yes, there's no shame in wanting to snack while you sip, so go big, while staying right at home.

Ingredients:

3 parts vodka

6 pieces chopped Italian sausage

6 pieces sliced pepperoni

6 pieces diced fresh mozzarella

5 pinches garlic powder

3 dashes Worcestershire sauce

3 dashes Siracha sauce

3 dashes Cholula hot sauce

2 parts pizza sauce

4 parts tomato juice

4 parts V8 vegetable juice

Garnish:

1 fresh mozzarella, pepperoni, and basil slice

Italian herb and spice mix for the rim of a 34-oz mug

Parmesan cheese for sprinkling on the top

Steps:

Note: This is 34-oz cocktail, so be sure that you’re using an appropriate shaker and cup to fit the cocktail.

1. In the shaker mix all of the ingredients, shake to combine, and pour over ice.

2. To garnish, rim the class with an Italian herb and spice mix, and top with fresh mozzarella, pepperoni, basil, and parmesan cheese.
