(Exclusive Video) Timo Weiland x Tsubo Spring ’12 Shoe Collection

January is right around the corner, kids, and with it, comes the first arrival of a footwear collection dreamt up by New York designer Timo Weiland and S.F.-based Tsubo. If you didn't get a chance to scope out the covetable line during the spring 2012 runway shows (we can't blame you, there was a whole lot going on), we've got you covered. Up above, check out an exclusive behind-the-scenes video, shot by Christelle de Castro, chronicling the debut of the capsule collection, which is comprised of six pieces and three styles ("demi-wedges" and flatforms included) that were dreamily inspired by a fictional fling between a military commander and the daughter of a seamstress in 1930s Italy.
“Both Tsubo and I share a passion for creating innovative, design-driven fashion,” Weiland says of the utilitarian collaboration that's as wearable as it is cute. “I believe almost anyone can make a stylish shoe, but to make it comfortable and beautiful is our shared passion.”
Obvi, Tsubo's team is just as enamored. “Timo Weiland has been on our radar for a long time,” says Jason Mora, Tsubo's brand manager. “We were looking for an emerging designer with a similar aesthetic, who could incorporate his unique signature into our line, while still remaining true to Tsubo’s heritage."
Like what you see? Get ready for more collaborations with this comfy-cool S.F. brand as part of the company's "New Creatives" initiative, which pairs them with emerging designers looking to unite technology-aided comfort and style. Also, if you want to snap up the looks you see in the video, the first shipment hits Tsubo.com in early January (which, somehow, is just around the corner).
