Country music's golden couple is getting divorced. Miranda Lambert and Blake Shelton confirmed to Us Weekly that they're splitting after four years of marriage. The couple released a joint statement about their split.
"This is not the future we envisioned. And it is with heavy hearts that we move forward separately. We are real people, with real lives, with real families, friends and colleagues. Therefore, we kindly ask for privacy and compassion concerning this very personal matter," the statement reads.
TMZ is reporting that the couple filed for divorce in Oklahoma a while ago, and that their marriage will officially be dissolved by a judge today. Lambert and Shelton did not comment on those additional details.
The two said they fell in love with each other on stage when they performed "You're the Reason God Made Oklahoma" together during the CMT 100 Greatest Duets concert in 2005. (Us Weekly)
