This Building Is Inspired By Beyoncé’s Body

Beyoncé has done a lot of wonderful things in this world, from championing LGBTQ rights to advocating for vegans. Her latest feat is a bit more...lofty. Turns out, Queen B has inspired the undulating curves of a colossal skyscraper planned for construction in Melbourne, Australia. Premier Tower, a recently approved project by Elenberg Fraser architects, will be a mixed-use development with a "complex form" that more effectively redistributes the building's mass. It will house apartments as well as a hotel and retail space. "For those more on the art than science side, we will reveal that the form does pay homage to something more aesthetic," the company's site reveals. "We’re going to trust you’ve seen the music video for Beyoncé’s Ghost." So, we now have Beyoncé to thank for pushing structural engineering forward. But, we have to ask: When will NYC be getting its own Bey-inspired building? And can we call it the Beyhive? Click over to Dezeen to see more renderings of the project.
