Brody Jenner Calls Caitlyn “Dad;” Does Not Keep Up With The Kardashians

Brody Jenner is currently on a press tour for his new E! show, Sex With Brody. The former Hills star is part of a very famous family that happens to be very much in the news right now for many reasons. So, it's no surprise that this seems to be all anyone wants to talk about with Brody. In a new and particularly candid interview with Joe Zee of Yahoo Style, Brody opens up about how his relationship with Caitlyn Jenner has evolved in the past few months, where he stands with the Kardashians, and his increasingly famous younger half-sisters, Kendall and Kylie Jenner. "What's interesting is that Bruce and I always had issues," Brody told Yahoo, echoing his statements to E! from last week. "Growing up, there were times when Bruce wasn't there, and that's my father. This is getting to know somebody else. Actually, I finally feel like I'm getting to know the person that had me — that's my dad. It’s been a journey, I will say that for all of us. I am not going to say it’s been the easiest thing in the world, it hasn’t. There have been a lot of things that have been difficult to deal with, but ultimately it’s not about me, it’s Caitlyn. Now Caitlyn is in a much happier place. And you only have one life, and it’s very short...I think you should be who you are." As for what he calls Caitlyn: "I'll say 'Bruce,' I'll say 'Caitlyn,' I'll say 'Dad.' You gotta have a sense of humor about it ... Ultimately, that is my dad." While Brody does keep in touch with Caitlyn, he does not keep up with the Kardashians. Both a physical and technical separation stands between the two families: "I live in Malibu, and they live in Calabasas," he told Zee. "We don't spend Christmas together. I spend Christmas in Malibu with my mom. Growing up, we had two completely separate lives. The Kardashians were the Kardashians, and the Jenners were the Jenners...They got a divorce, right? So, they're not even technically my family anymore." He also doesn't know much about what's going on in their lives. Joe Zee informed Brody that Kim and Kanye's new baby is a boy. Brody admitted that he's only met Kanye once and he didn't buy a present for North West when she was born. As for Kendall and Kylie, Brody doesn't offer the former tips from his modeling days (not that he was ever really doing high-fashion like Kendall).
