Any award is a good award, amirite?
Just ask 10-year-old pit/Shepard mix Quasi Modo, the winner of the 27th annual World's Ugliest Dog Competition, held at the Sonoma-Marin Fairgrounds in Petaluma, California.
Quasi, who was born with a spinal birth defect, beat out 26 other competitors for the title of Top Dog. According to the pup's biography, she was abandoned at an animal shelter before getting adopted by a family in Loxahatchee, Florida.
"My appearance can be a little unsettling to some (I have had grown men jump on top of their cars to get away from me because they thought I was a hyena or Tasmanian devil)," Quasi's bio reads. "But once they get to know me I win them over with my bubbly personality."
According to a press release distributed by event organizers, contestants are judged in several categories, including: first impression, unusual attributes, natural ugliness, personality, and audience impression.
Quasi (and her owners) will receive $1,500 in prize money, and are set to appear on Jimmy Kimmel Live in the upcoming days. As for the second place winner?
