Susan Sarandon’s Son Is A Rocker Who Sometimes Wears Dresses

She may often be photographed in the company of her actress daughter Eva Amurri, but Susan Sarandon is actually a mother of three. The Oscar winner has two sons, 26-year-old Jack and 23-year-old Miles, with former partner Tim Robbins, and she's been sharing a few stories about how one of them in particular is using his image to experiment with gender roles. "My son Miles is a musician and a DJ and sometimes when his band performs they all wear dresses, and he has long hair," Sarandon revealed during a speech at a TrevorLIVE event supporting LGBTQ youth on Monday. According to People, Sarandon also described her son as someone who "colors outside the lines." She also emphasized the importance of talking to youths about diverse issues and maintaining an open mind. "As a mother, I know how difficult it is to survive the teenage years intact and the socialization process," she said. "If you step out of line, it's so difficult. And there are so many kids these days who are questioning, gay or transgender, who have a very tough time and it could be very dangerous for them. I think it's really great that we are having all these conversations and getting kids to understand that there is somewhere we can go to talk it over." To be clear, Sarandon didn't identify her son as LGBTQ, just as someone who is fluid with gender stereotypes when it comes to his appearance.
