Ben & Jerry’s Is About To Make A Lot Of People Really Happy

There’s nothing better than a brand that actually takes its customers’ feedback seriously. Looks like Ben & Jerry’s is one of these; the company confirmed that its flavor gurus are currently working to create a line of dairy-free ice cream.
Apparently, Ben & Jerry's customers have been asking for nondairy offerings for a while now. According to an announcement on the brand's website, Ben & Jerry’s was originally planning to keep the product a secret, but decided to respond to fans' requests and share the news early. (As someone who had to avoid dairy for a chunk of my childhood, I can personally confirm that sorbet just doesn’t cut it when you're hankering for "real" ice cream.)

Unfortunately, the new offerings won’t be available until next year, as Ben & Jerry’s is still in the testing phase. “We've been working on this for quite a while, and want to make sure these flavors live up to what Ben & Jerry's is known for: enormous chunks, delicious swirls, and a commitment to values-led ingredient sourcing,” a statement explained.
So whether it’s because of allergies or a dietary choice, Ben & Jerry’s enthusiasts who don’t eat dairy won’t have to resort to sorbet for much longer. We can’t wait to see what the new flavors will be, and whether Ben & Jerry’s will go with coconut milk, nut milk, or a completely new nondairy base.
