Christina Aguilera Drops New Song For Nashville

Christina Aguilera, pop princess of yore, had dropped a new song. And, it's country.

Aguilera debuted the new track timed to her appearance on Nashville this Wednesday night. (That explains the country feel.) Cosmo reports "The Real Thing" is a song she recorded specifically for the show, where she'll play a pop star turned country artist called Jade St. John. This won't be the only country tune you'll hear from Aguilera. She's also releasing an additional track, "Shotgun," which will also debut on an upcoming episode of the show.

What's weird is that even though country music is a real detour from Aguilera's pop repertoire, she still sounds indisputably like Xtina. Not an easy thing to do. Check out "The Real Thing" below —  you'll see what we mean. [Cosmopolitan
