Emma Stone Wears A Canadian Tuxedo, Nails It

The old rule that you shouldn't double up on denim has become entirely irrelevant. But, while it’s easy to wear a chambray button-up with dark-wash jeans, or black skinnies and an oversized work shirt, rocking a classic jacket with your go-to pair of five-pocket pants can still feel a little daunting. But, it shouldn't.
As Emma Stone so expertly proves, there’s no reason you can’t wear the two wardrobe workhorses together. Just be smart about it — like the Birdman star is. For an afternoon coffee run in L.A., Stone wore her beloved rag & bone jeans, cuffed at the ankle to show off her two-tone Joie sandals. Up top, she wore a white, lace-trimmed tee under a snug jean jacket. The trick to doubling up on denim is to avoid matching your separates (this isn’t a suit, after all) while sticking with similar hues: Stone’s outerwear is just a few washes lighter than her pants, but the general shade is the same. Sounds simple, right? It is.
