Julia Roberts Used A Post-It To Get Richard Gere To Star In Pretty Woman

That Pretty Woman reunion on Today finally happened this morning. Hector Elizondo looks exactly the same. Matt Lauer didn't ask Laura San Giacomo a single thing. Garry Marshall is the funny grandpa everyone wants. Richard Gere is a little lechy and defines time by how many ex-wives he's had since. Julia Roberts is Julia Roberts. The Oscar winner had a few beans to spill about her and Gere's castings. The original script was a darker piece called 3,000 about a drug-addicted prostitute. Roberts landed the lead in that, then panicked when the script was sold to Disney and everything changed. Marshall "didn't know her from Adam," but he was soon won over by Roberts' new audition and winning smile.  Gere was a tougher sell. As the video below reveals, the actor turned down the role of Edward a few times until Roberts issued a final plea via Post-It note. Best use of office supplies, ever?
