As you grow up, the assumption is you become more and more confident in your appearance and how you look. Which is more or less true — if someone made a snide comment regarding how I look today, they'd most likely be met with a mean eye roll. But, we're all human at the core, and sometimes words can hurt just as much as those sticks and stones that may break our bones.
Which is why this 4-year-old girl's reaction when a boy called her ugly one day is so perfect/beautiful/fierce. One can only hope her brilliant response is one all ladies — young and old — have when they come across some of the ignorant cruelness in the world today. She's a beacon of hope for tiny feminists and women alike — and, we should all take a page from her book of life. Shine on, little one. You are beautiful, no matter what the haters say.
