Don't you just love when a juicy casting rumor turns out to be true?  TheWrap.com has confirmed that Emma Watson has closed a deal to play Belle in the live-action remake of Disney's Beauty and the Beast. Bill Condon will be directing the film. Judging by her own Facebook announcement, Watson's delighted to be sinking her teeth into the iconic role.

“I’m finally able to tell you…that I will be playing Belle in Disney’s new live-action Beauty and the Beast," the U.N. global ambassador told fans. "It was such a big part of my growing up, it almost feels surreal that I’ll get to dance to ‘Be Our Guest’ and sing ‘Something There.’ My six-year-old self is on the ceiling

heart bursting. Time to start some singing lessons. I can’t wait for you to see it. Emma xx.”

The feeling is mutual. Now we just need a suitably hunky but hirsute Beast, and a pledge from Angela Lansbury to recreate her legendary Mrs. Potts.
