Jennifer Aniston Opens Up About Her First Love

Jennifer Aniston is in the spotlight for playing an awfully difficult character in the upcoming drama Cake, but she's doling out just enough entertaining nuggets to keep things from being too somber.
Aniston told The New York Times that she's fairly certain her fiancé Justin Theroux was sent to her by a dead ex. This mysterious "unappreciated boyfriend" died of a brain tumor years after they broke up. "He was my first love — five years we were together. He would have been the one. But, I was 25, and I was stupid. He must have sent me Justin to make up for it all," she said. Which is pretty cool of him, honestly. He doesn't hold a grudge. Will any little gold men be next?
Aniston's performance has already snagged her a Golden Globe nomination, and she's stumping for an Oscar hardcore. The requisite awards season appearances at luncheons, screenings, media events, and the like have given her the opportunity to pepper her humor with serious stuff, like well-deserved jabs at Hollywood sexism and ageism. No matter what critics think of Cake, it's always a good thing to hear from those who know just how our Hollywood sausage gets made.
The Golden Globes air Sunday, January 11, and Oscar nominations are announced on January 15.
