See How Much Beauty Has Changed Over 100 Years

Beauty norms are funny in that, much like our wardrobes, they can turn on a dime. Red lips may be the look du jour, only to be eclipsed by a more natural pout mere months later. Our current obsessions (read: no-makeup makeup) change super quickly, but that's nothing compared to how they've evolved over the past century. And, a new time-lapse video shows us just how drastic those changes have been — and clocks in under a minute.
It's seriously cool to see how different beauty is now than it was 100 years ago. In the '20s, it was all about a small, drawn-on doll mouth. Women used lipliner and base products to manipulate their lips into smaller shapes. Today? They're still using liner, but now they're making their lips larger.

And, that's not all. The 20th century and the start of the 21st have seen Victory Rolls, hella hairspray, caked-on foundation, and impossibly pin-straight strands. Interestingly, the looks chosen for the past two decades were the most snooze-worthy of the bunch. 2000 was dead-on Megan Fox — thick liner, nude lips, and straight hair. For 2010? Say hello to Kim Kardashian — and her selfies.
Watch the video above, and let us know: Do you think these looks represent the decades they're from? (Cut Video)
