In one of the more bizarre conspiracy theories to ever emerge online, a blogger is positing that Frozen and The Shining are basically the same movie. Mary Katharine Ham (who can often be seen jawing with Bill O'Reilly as a frequent guest on his show The O'Reilly Factor) developed the rather compelling theory, by comparing and contrasting key elements from Disney's world-conquering mega-hit and Stanley Kubrick's blood-curdling 1980 ghost story.
First, she compared the settings of both movies: The Shining's creepy Overlook Hotel and Frozen's picturesque Arondelle. As you can see, they're pretty similar.

Ham also managed to find parallels between the films' central characters, Jack Nicholson's possessed lunatic, Jack Torrence, and Frozen's complex princess, Elsa. "The menacing main character is a danger to family members, whose volatility increases after a long isolation inside a giant, ornate, high-ceilinged building in a cold, desolate landscape,” Ham writes.
In fact, according to Ham, all the main charcters in The Shining have their own Frozen counterparts. Anna and Danny are both "innocent protagonists, touched by the supernatural." We can't argue with that. Nor can we dispute that the lovable snowman Olaf and The Shining's Wendy Torrence are each a “somewhat goofy supporting character who knows our principal characters better than anyone and will sacrifice anything to protect our innocent protagonist from danger.”
