Miley Fans Fuming Over Her Pig’s Pedi

UPDATE: Floss Gloss has confirmed that Cyrus is using its Floss Gloss Ltd. Pro Nail Lacquer on Bubba Sue. On its website, the company claims to be a cruelty-free, vegan-friendly brand with 3-free products made in California without animal testing. That said, CEO and cofounder Janine E. Lee tells Refinery29 that, "Our products are not intended nor recommended for use on animals."
You can take the girl out of the country, but you can't take the country out of the girl. So, it wasn't exactly shocking when Miley Cyrus adopted a piglet this summer. She named it Bubba Sue. She fed it, she loved it, she painted its nails. And, that's where the controversy kicked off.

Some of the singer's fans have objected to recent Instagram photos that show Cyrus and friends treating Bubba Sue — who, we have to say, is really filling out these days — to a pedicure and a brush. This isn't the first time the porker has been sporting fancy nails, as she was wearing fake press-ons as a piglet. Now Cyrus has upgraded to using actual red nail polish, a practice that some say is more cruel than it is cute.

"Miley testing nail varnish on animals? Stupid Americans," one fan responded in the comments section of her Instagram page, while others branded the pedicure "cruel," "so mean," and "animal abuse."
Other Instagram followers speculated that the nail polish must be non-toxic and animal-friendly, given the pop star's reputation as an animal lover. You might want to make with the bottle Insta, Miley, before PETA gets involved.
