We're excited for the forthcoming Keys-Beatz baby. But, when we caught up with Keys at her annual Black Ball for the singer's Keep a Child Alive organization, we wanted to go back to the beginning. So, we asked Keys about her first date with Swizz (real name: Kasseem Dean).
“Out first date was really awesome," she told us. "You know, my husband is an art lover, and he’s always introduced me to art. He’s always taking me to the coolest, most interesting places. And, for our first date, he introduced me to an artist called Erte, who became and is now one of my favorite artists because of all the clothing he designed, and how he was really focused on feminine beauty," Keys said.
Herein lies the heart of their relationship. "It’s always beautiful the way that he teaches me, and we teach each other.”
