We’ve hit the halfway point of August, and we’re back with This Is Our Jam, a midweek mix of our favorite recent tracks. We’re kicking off our playlist with a premiere of a chill yet catchy track from Paris Carney, another gorgeous premiere from My Brightest Diamond, and a quirky pop gem from Sophie and The Bom Boms. We’re following that up with TIAAN’s latest and greatest, and ending the week with a seriously sexy single from Prelow.

Paris Carney

“Run & Hide (Massolit X Prince Fox Remix)”

We have a sweet spot for indie-pop songstress Paris Carney, and this remix premiere of “Run & Hide” just made it sweeter. As the niece of The Honeymooners’ Art Carney and sister of Penny Dreadful’s Reeve Carney, it’s not surprising to see that talent runs in the family. We’ll keep this one on repeat, since it’s the perfect combo of catchy and cool.

My Brightest Diamond

“Lover Killer”

We’re thrilled to premiere My Brightest Diamond’s jazzy, glowing song from her forthcoming record, This Is My Hand. There’s something so unique about Shara Worden’s music — her operatic voice has us hypnotized. We’re hoping her upcoming release will also sweep us off our feet.

Sophie and The Bom Boms

Sophie Stern hit us like a brick with her catchy, infectious pop jam “Pray.” Her debut EP, The Shmixtape, will be out in September, but Stern's no newbie. She's previously worked as a songwriter for pop acts like Britney Spears, Conor Maynard, and The Ready Set. It sounds like Stern has certainly found her own voice with this one.

We’re really digging this new one from TIAAN — the songstress captivates with soothing R&B-infused vocals and the result is just plain sultry. Her comparisons to Aaliyah and Sade had us really intrigued, and her mini-EP Dive Deep is just plain addictive.

“Mistakes Like This”

If you’re looking for a track to add to your sexy-time playlist, this is it. NYC-based duo Prelow mixes hazy vocals and very literal lyrics with indie-rock, electronica and a little bit of hip-hop.
