S.F. is on the forefront of a lot of things (tech, food, you name it), and that’s what we truly love about it. Combine that with its pet-friendly vibe and this city is almost too good to call home. But, now we have a whole new reason to gawk over it — possibly the best yet.
According to SFist, S.F. is getting its very own feline café. Cat lovers, owners, ladies, gents, you name it, can now waltz in and take their tea with a side of purr. Yes, it’s literally a place where customers come and cuddle with a group of gatos — we know, we’re pinching ourselves, too. (And, if that didn’t just make your heart patter, you’re made of stone.)
The concept is inspired by kitty cafés seen sprinkled around Japan and will be helmed by Courtney Hatt and David Braginsky and — wait for it — is called KitTea. Cue the collective awws. The joint (which will either be in the Mission or Hayes Valley) will be a design-forward haven with a bevy of dedicated cat areas and human seating, all tastefully presented. Hatt and Braginsky will, of course, make sanitary concerns a top priority and work closely with the health department to implement rules for all workers and patrons. Okay, we’re marking down the days until we can say,"Hello, kitty!"
