Celebrities are known for getting ultra creative when it comes to naming their babies, but not Ciara and Future. The singer gave birth to the couple's first child today and named him after the proud papa himself. Well, sort of. Future's real name is Nayvadius, so technically his son is the real Future.
Ciara let the world know about Blue Ivy's future playdate via Instagram, where she posted a photo of her son's hand with the caption "FUTURE ZAHIR WILBURN 9lbs 10oz May 19 2014." Little Future has little hands.
Naming their son Future is a bold move by the couple, who risk a number of potential mishaps in the not-too-distant...time from now. For instance, when the phone rings, and it's for Future, who picks up? What happens if father and son want to collaborate on a song one day? Could you imagine a song by Future featuring Future? Our heads would explode. Also, who gets the "Future" personalized license plate? Expect that discussion to make for some very awkward dinner conversations.
Thankfully, these questions don't have to be answered now. Let's allow the glowing new parents to enjoy their moment and worry about all that in the — you guessed it — future.
